}FAQ
Why do I need to pass a transaction_id?The
transaction_idrefers to one specific transaction in the system. The email or the phone number alone can collide when you send the same value twice. Thetransaction_idmust be unique across all the Trustfull API endpoints.
What is the supported phone_number format?Send the
phone_numberin international format: the country code, then the national number, without leading zeros. The endpoint also accepts a leading plus, spaces, dashes and brackets, and removes them before the lookup.
What is the supported email format? The
+tags are accepted. The endpoint does not remove spaces, so" [email protected]"is invalid. Accented letters and other non-ASCII characters are also invalid.
What happens if I pass an invalid phone number or email? We recommend that you validate the format before the request, or use our Phone Validation endpoint. If the
phone_numberor thephone_is_valid_formatoremail_is_valid_formatisfalse(or both), and all other fields arenull. The call costs the same as a standard API call.
Can I send both an email and a phone number?Yes. The endpoint uses both of them to build one answer. Each field is optional, but you must send at least one of them.
